Witch Word?

"Witch Word?"  
Ever been told something about yourself that you didn’t like, but you feared it may be true?  Or maybe you were told something that sounded too good to be true, but you hoped it were true.  How do we determine which words are truthful concerning ourselves?  Does the source matter?
