Last week we learned that all of Abraham’s decedents would be blessed by God, rather through the line of Ishmael or through Isaac, and that God would make good on His promise no matter what. Yet. . . only the children from Abraham and Sarah would be part of the “covenant.” If you can be blessed apart from being in a covenant with God, what then is the purpose of a covenant?
