That’s how long Lazarus had been in the tomb before Jesus showed up. Some had stopped asking for anything, and others could only weep. Into this reality, Jesus speaks words that don’t quite fit the moment: “I am the resurrection and the life.” What does that mean on the day everyone else has stopped expecting anything?
