Sabbath Worship Experience | "MOSES: Instruction"
Moses has become synonymous with law. In fact, the first five books of the Bible, which he’s credited with penning, is called The Law (Torah). If you’ve ever dared to read the Bible from cover to cover, you’ll find it challenging to get out of the four books following Genesis due to all the laws you have to read through. It’s less narrative and more procedural. It’s a bit boring, yes, but it’s more than that. It feels more restrictive. God seems more distant. It’s more difficult to see the love. It’s harder to trust.
This Sabbath we’re continuing the series on Moses, and we will consider what role God’s Law played at the time it was given, and what it should mean for us today. Is it all a bunch of irrelevant, culturally archaic rules, or a pathway to good living and heaven? Maybe, just maybe, it’s something far more meaningful than those possibilities.
